Managing Director

The management of the company is being led by Mr. Deepak Rauniar. He is the Chief Officer of KSK and has been deputed from KSK to the company to lead the management of the company. He has more than twenty years of deep and professional engagement in the technology, management, infrastructure, banking and finance, and hydropower sector in Nepal and abroad. His professional experience includes leadership positions of several public institutions including the founding CEO of Hydroelectricity Investment and Development Company Limited (HIDCL), Officiating Administrator of Employees Provident Fund (EPF), and Managing Director of Betan Karnali Sanchayakarta Hydropower Company Limited (BKSHCL).

As the CEO of HIDCL, he was involved in the financing of more than 700 MW of HEPs besides setting up a subsidiary company and obtaining feasibility licenses for two HEPs with a combined capacity of 125 MW. He also concluded the Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Rupees Two Billion of HIDCL (which was oversubscribed by 22 times becoming one of the biggest IPO in Nepal in terms of subscription), and made HIDCL a listed public company. He also provided leadership and concluded: the World Bank and International Finance Corporation’s joint financing of a 36 MW HEP with HIDCL as the financial intermediary, and a financial intermediary loan of USD 50 Million loans for HIDCL from the Asian Development Bank.

He has also served on the board of several developments and commercial banks including Clean Energy Development Bank Limited, Deva Bikash Bank Limited, and Nepal SBI Bank Limited; Hydropower Companies - including the Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Limited, Betan Karnali Sanchayakarta Hydropower Company Limited, and Vidhyut Utpadan Company Limited; Transmission Companies – the Power Transmission Company Nepal; Information Technology and Insurance Company.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh; two Master's degrees, one in Information Technology from Monash University, Australia, and the other in Business Administration from Nepal.


An eloquent speaker, he remains well versed in the energy and the finance sector of Nepal and has featured as a speaker in several domestic and international energy events.
